Yesterday I had a leisurely Sunday lunch with friends at Glencot House hotel and restaurant. Tucked away just outside Wells (a 45-minute drive from Bath), Glencot House is owned by antiques expert, Martin Miller (of Miller's Antiques Price Guide fame).
I’d heard so much about the place, so I was really looking forward to seeing it for myself. Although I certainly wouldn't recommend it for the food (disappointing), it's still a really fun to place to visit – the theatrical rooms are stuffed to the gills with an amazing array of antiques and quirky curiosities. Here's a sample of what to expect:

What pretty, faded colours and rich textures (not to mention lovely stained-glass windows) in Marianne Cotterill's Victorian house in North-west London, as seen in Living Etc.
I especially love the sturdy little dogs in a couple of the shots - they contrast perfectly with the delicate styling.

New in this week is our adorable Dulcie cotton dress. It's the perfect dress to take you effortlessly through summer - picnics in the park, shopping with friends, relaxing on holiday (have you booked yours yet?) and so much more!

A leaf out of Liz's book
I've decided to take up swimming. Unfortunately, I've been having a nightmare finding the right costume! I realise this is sounding like a feable excuse, but because I've always been a bikini wearer, the more practical, one-piece swimming costume is a whole new thing to me - and I'm finding it surprisingly tricky to get one that looks just vaguely flattering.
Having seen the pictures of Liz Hurley in her new swimwear range this weekend, I now realise that I've been getting it all wrong. If I want to look glamorous at my local gym, I need to go for a bold-coloured costume, full make-up and a couple of pieces of statement jewellery. Oh, and a (slightly airbrushed) bod to die for would help too...

Shoewawa is one of my regular reads. A shoeaholics dream, it's a fun blog that takes a lighthearted look at footwear of every description, and includes regular features such as Ugly Shoe of the Week (there are some gems!), Play The Stylist and Yay or Nay Wednesday.
I'd like to thank Amber from Shoewawa for recommending our gorgeous Ailana sandals last week.

Last week we thought summer was finally here... when suddenly the snow arrived at the weekend! We've been cheering ourselves up with the first delivery of our fabulously strokeable eel skin bags - online now at Anusha.
Available in hot pink, antique white and hot chocolate, these effortlessly cool beauties come in three designs: the oversize, flat clutch; the vintage-style clasp clutch; and the large purse/mini clutch.
Not seen eel skin before? Well, just like leather, eel skin is a by-product of the food industry. It's much softer than normal leather but three times stronger, which means it's hard-wearing and durable. The bags are hand made and hand dyed by artisans under fair-trade conditions.
And if you need an excuse to treat yourself to one - according to Greek mythology, eel skin brings good luck and health!
