I've just been contacted by Gigi at MumsRock, 'a virtual drop-in for independently-minded people, with kids and dreams.'

The website is the brainchild of old school friends Gigi (previous life was as a TV producer, where she had to cope with the unexpected, including children, animals, and Big Brother contestants!) and Harriet Mellor (spent 20 years as a jobbing journalist and stints in PR).

Mums Rock

MumsRock is well worth a look - it's packed with goodies, including a shopping bible; Sleepless in Suburbia (a blog on how one working mother is turning sleep deprivation to her advantage in suburban Edinburgh); The Friendly Fashionista (translating trends); Mums mean Business; forums; favourite reads and lots more.

I'm delighted that Anusha is their Shop of the Week.

Thanks Gigi, and good luck with the new website!

Game on

I've just had a mailing through from Daylesford, the posh organic 'farm shop' near Kingham in Gloucestershire (Liz Hurley, Alex James and Kate Moss are customers, but don't let that put you off!).

I'm a big fan of all things gamey, so I couldn't resist their Game Dinner for Two offer, which is available online. For £15, you get smoked salmon paté; pheasant with organic root vegetables; Daylesford’s award-winning Penyston cheese; and a bottle of red wine to complement the pheasant and cheese. All delivered direct to your door...
