Richard Hamilton, creator of Pop Art

Artist, Richard Hamilton has died at the age of 89. One of the most influential British artists of the late 20th century, his 1956 collage, Just what is it that makes today's homes so different, so appealing? is often referred to as the first example of Pop Art.

Modern art, he wrote, should be “Popular (designed for a mass audience), Transient (short-term solution), Expendable (easily forgotten), Low-cost, Mass-produced, Young (aimed at youth), Witty, Sexy, Gimmicky, Glamorous, Big Business.”

Campervan tent!

Went to Top Drawer trade show at Olympia yesterday. Ordered lots of lovely new jewellery and accessories for Anusha, and also saw this cool tent. It's an exact-scale replica of 1965 VW campervan, and comes in red, yellow and blue. Love it!
