With summer upon us, and the invitations piling up, it’s time to get your wedding wardrobe sorted. Couples get married in a huge variety of locations, and what works for one setting won't necessarily be appropriate for another.

Countdown to D-Day

CoucouManou is a gorgeous new website selling beautiful and original furniture and accessories, which has just been launched by a super-talented friend, Nell.

Nell has been making bespoke furniture for over 17 years, and she's designed the range of stunning pieces, which are suitable for both adults and children (the choice of paints, oils and waxes are strictly eco friendly, and 100% child safe. And everything they offer is designed and built in the UK).

Her love for colour can be seen throughout the collection and her knowledge of cabinet making is seen in every piece - here's a little bit of what's online.

The name CoucouManou derives from France, where Nell lived for several years. She chose it because Coucou means 'Hello' or 'Hi' in French, and Manou is an affectionate term for her daughter, Manon (seen peeping round the minaret wardrobe, below!).

Dress of the Year 2011 announced

The Fashion Museum, Bath, has chosen its Dress of the Year 2011. The dress, chosen by Hamish Bowles, International Editor-at-Large for US Vogue, is this Sarah Burton creation for Alexander McQueen, and formed part of her stunning AW11 Ice Queen collection.

The ivory tulle bodice of the dress is embroidered with 3D organza feathers (each feather is embroidered with silver and white thread and bullion), and the gown has an organza skirt consisting of 31 panels, which are hand embroidered with miniature eagle motifs using silver and white bullion.

This latest addition to the Dress of the Year collection means there are now 49 outfits as part of the Fashion Museum’s award.

Our Dulce print dress has proved such a hit, that we've temporarily sold out of sizes medium, large and extra large.

One of the tricky things about running a boutique is trying to predict how popular things are going to be. From the first time I saw Dulce, I knew it was going to be a winner, but sometimes things take me a little by surprise!
